Sixers Deadline Recap
Plenty of players were rumored to be coming to Philly including Lonzo Ball, Victor Oladipo, and of course Kyle Lowry. In the end the Sixers made ONE move by getting veteran George Hill.
IN:
George Hill
OUT
Terrance Ferguson, Tony Bradley, Vincent Poirier and two second round picks.
Maybe the biggest thing the Sixers did on the deadline was NOT trade certain players. Danny Green was rumored to have the eye of Golden State. But ultimately the Sixers chose to keep Green as he will go for his third straight NBA championship this season. The Sixers also did not trade Matisse Thybulle and Tyrese Maxey.
One possible veteran buyout target was however dealt. JJ Redick was shipped from the Pelicans to the Mavericks. Redick was a possible buy out candidate who had ties to Philly, having played for the Sixers for two seasons. The Sixers should be active on the buyout market though. And with their current spot as the #1 seed, youd have to imagine Philly would be an enticing destination for someone whos ring chasing.
The Miami heat bolstered their team. They were a team mentioned, along with the Sixers, for Kyle Lowry. But after scoffing at Toronto’s asking price they went and acquired Victor Oladipo without giving up much. They currently sit in the 5th seed and are hitting their stride.
Now that the deadline hoopla is over its time for the other fun part, THE BUY OUT PERIOD!
