Just yesterday, there was breaking news that the state of Pennsylvania would begin to allow 15% indoor and 20% outdoor capacity for fans at professional sporting events!
Today, the question of when fans will actually be cleared to return for the 3 major sports currently in action in Philadelphia finally got an answer. Per John Clark, the Flyers and Sixers will begin allowing 3,100 fans per game starting on Sunday, March 7th for the Flyers and post All-Star break for the Sixers. The Phillies will be able to have around 8,000 fans at Citizens Bank Park for opening day of the 2021 MLB season!
As much as we missed attending games, the Sixers made it clear through a tweet from the team’s account that they missed having fans as well:
So get your gameday gear ready, Philadelphia – for the first time in just about a calendar year, there will be live fans at Philly sporting events later this week!
