PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA- OCTOBER 22: DeSean Jackson #10 of the Philadelphia Eagles is carted into the locker room after being injured on a punt return against the New York Giants during the fourth quarter at Lincoln Financial Field on October 22, 2020 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

In a series of posts to his Instagram stories wide receiver DeSean Jackson let his fans know he will be released

Jackson was due $9 million in non-guarented salary so for a cash strapped team this move is a no-brainer.

Even for a team in a good financial situation this deal would’ve made sense. Jackson was heavily limited by injuries in his second go round with the Birds, playing in just 8 games in 2 seasons. And even that is more glamorous than reality with a few of those games being a few plays before the 34 year old came off the field.

The former 2nd round pick ends his Eagles career with over 10,000 receiving yards and 56 touchdowns
