The Phillies have addressed a huge concern Thursday; their bullpen. The team inked reliever Archie Bradley to a 1 year, $6 million dollar deal. Its the third bullpen move made by new GM Sam Fuld. Acquiring Jose Alverdo from the Rays and Sam Coonrod from the Giants
Bradley is the former 7th overall pick who debuted with the Diamondbacks. They originally tried him as a starter but that was a disaster and they moved him to the bullpen which resurrected his career.
In his career he has a 3.91 ERA. He only pitched in 16 games in 2020, and was traded to the Reds where he pitched much better than he did in Arizona (4.22 compared to 1.77). He also throws hard.
The Phillies bullpen was historically bad last season, having an astounding 7.06 ERA. It wasnt for lack of trying because they did address the bullpen in trades but none of them worked.
