Pennsylvania Turnpike officials have announced another toll increase will go in effect early next year.

The toll increases include a 6% increase for EZ pass users and those without passes in the “Toll by Plate” program and also a 45% increase over the 2020 cash rate which they said is “to reflect the costs of collections for this tolling method.”

The Toll by Plate program uses high speed cameras to take photographs of license plates and then sends a bill to the registered owner.

The new rates are to take effect Jan. 3.
