The ACC announced Thursday it would delay the start of the fall sports season to at least September 1st.

The board of directors made a unanimous decision the week.  Multiple ACC schools including North Carolina and Louisville have paused voluntary workouts as more student-athletes test positive for coronavirus.

For the time being, the announcement does not affect college football season – the ACC’s first game, NC State vs. Louisville, is set for Sept. 2nd.

It’s the first such announcement from a ‘Power 5’ conference.  The Patriot League has also pushed its fall sports to September, while the Ivy League has cancelled the entire fall sports season.
