Flyers Honor Wayne Simmonds.. then gets boos
Wayne Simmonds returned to the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night, this time as a New Jersey Devil since being traded.
The Flyers honored the 31 year old with a video tribute during the home opener.
Fans gave Simmonds a standing ovation and cheers, followed by boos…which he said he wanted.

Wayne to Flyers fans
“Give me a couple of boos. It's only right, especially in Philadelphia. The fan base is just so passionate. To me, it would kind of be an honor to be booed. It's kind of crazy to say”#Flyers pic.twitter.com/5sH2cDEL2O
Simmonds signed a one-year deal with the Devils in the off season.
