Report: Eagles Explore Trade for Chargers Melvin Gordon
Gordon sparked some curiosity over the weekend after following the Philadelphia Eagles on Instagram and there may be more to the follow. The Eagles reportedly made a trade off with the Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, according to a tweet from Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
Did a little digging around on the Melvin Gordon trade market. To give you an idea of where it is, only offer I came across was from Philly.

In that deal, Jordan Howard would go to LA, the teams would swap mid-round picks, and the Chargers would eat salary. LA obviously said no.
According to Breer, the Eagles were the only team to offer a deal for Gordon. Per Breer, the offer would trade Eagles running back Jordan Howard to LA for Gordon, the teams would also swap mid-round draft picks, and the Chargers would eat some salary in the deal.
It makes sense for Howie Roseman to make an offer, even knowing the Chargers would unlikely accept. The addition of Gordon to the Birds offense would be a powerful one.
Gordon has at least eight touchdowns in each of the last three seasons and averaged 50 receptions.
Howard is penciled in as the team’s starting RB for Week 1.
