Long time 97.5 The Fanatic baseball contributor Jayson Stark was inducted into the MLB Hall Of Fame at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown this past weekend; receiving the 70th J.G. Taylor Spink award for his  “meritorious contribution to baseball writing”.

The Philadelphia native and 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School talked about how he is living his dream of being a baseball writer and talks about the pride he has in his 2 daughters and son…who, like Jayson, all work in sports.

Stark thanks his wife…”the original hall of famer” in his family.   Jayson was highly influenced by his Dad who worked in the space program and his Mom who he refers to as “an incredible writer”.  He credits his Mom for teaching him to “love writing”.

Jayson thanked “everyone who’s lives has been touched by the deep love of baseball…you’ve made my dreams possible, you’ve made this incredible honor possible, and you’ve made this special day possible.  I’ll appreciate that as long as I live”.
